The Tux Sux
THE TUXEDO (2002) * Jackie Chan, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jason Isaacs, Ritchie Coster, Debi Mazar, Peter Stormare, Bob Balaban (cameo: James Brown as himself). Poorly executed James Bond send-up cum martial arts vehicle for Chan as a newly hired chauffeur to a secret agent (Isaacs) who entrusts the titular suit of clothing when he is out of commission in the attempt to thwart Eurotrash baddie (Coster) from destroying the world's water supply with severely misshapen direction by newcomer Kevin Donovan and inept screenplay by (four – count'em – four scribes: Phil Hay, Matt Mandredi, Michael J. Wilson and Michael Leeson) which doesn't account (sadly) for the lack of chemistry between Chan and Hewitt (badly miscast) as a rookie scientist fed wannabe who proves more annoying than adorable. One of the year's worst.
