Bean As Bond
JOHNNY ENGLISH (2003) ** Rowan Atkinson, Natalie Imbruglia, Ben Miller, John
Malkovich, Tim Pigott-Smith. Atkinson does his best in this hit-and-miss
comedy vehicle showcasing his slapstick and verbal skills as a wanna be
secret agent in this poky send-up of the Bond films with some sporadically
funny moments as he attempts to thwart French billionaire Malkovich from his
sinister plottings to take over the world by stealing the Crown Jewels to be
the next monarch to the UK. Imbruglia exudes sexiness as his way-smarter
colleague in her big screen debut. (Dir: Peter Howitt)
